 Cutting-Edge Culture from Budapest

 


 JUDIT JÓZSA Ceramic-sculptor was born in Korond, in the Székely Region of Transylvania, Romania. This village is famous for its pottery and the many famous artist families who have practiced a unique style of traditional pottery making for centuries. Ms. Józsa is from one of these prominent families. A versatile artist, she crafts ceramic sculpture focusing on Hungarian history, legends and folk themes. This young artist’s works have been exhibited in North America, Australia and Europe. Her presentation will be based on an interesting projection format of her art in three dimensions. Her latest exhibit entitled “Hungarian Dances” was on display recently at the Hungarian Culture Foundation in Budapest. (www.jozsajudit.hu)

   

SZILVIA BÁBA    Is a director at the Hungarian Culture Foundation in Budapest located in a historic building in the Castle District The Foundation plays a prominent role in organizing, promoting, and hosting special programs with a focus on the Hungarian cultural heritage. The Foundation plays a vital role showcasing Hungarian talent from around the world. Ms. Bába will present the Foundation’s fascinating history and speak about recent projects, including the immensly popular 13th Hungarian Cartoon Festival they recently organized, which she is also presenting in St. Louis, MO.
