Hungary Hopes To Settle Airline Dispute With Moscow

Hungary hopes to resolve outstanding issues with Russia over the re-nationalization of ailing airline Malev when the Hungarian prime minister visits Moscow next month.

Hungarian foreign minister Janos Martonyi said on Friday that he hoped the issue along with another row over a Russian stake in oil and gas group MOL could be resolved in the talks.

He said: "The approach is a package approach. I'm optimistic... I believe that at the end of the day we can settle all outstanding issues, be it MOL, be it the Hungarian airlines or any other things."

The comments followed a meeting between Hungary's development minister Tamas Fellegi and Russian first deputy prime minister Viktor Zubkov in Moscow on Wednesday.
